Very Good

The hotel was really nice and good value for the price.

The food was a bit expensive and not the best. Also the people at the reception didn't speak the best English so it was a bit hard to communicate with them.

The bed was very comfortable and also the way you have decorated the room was awesome.we also loved and enjoyed the food and we had a wonderful vacation thanks to you all

Really worth the Stay and great Value for the money...

The location of the hotel is fantastic with lots of nature around it. The room was very well spacious and equipped with all modern facilities. The entire staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.

The environment was peaceful located outside of the busy...

The environment was peaceful located outside of the busy town of Kandy. We enjoyed the facilities and the quietness of the hotel. The staff were friendly. It was a quiet period and so the buffet for dinner was not available but a set menu was available and Al a carte that was great value and a lovely alternative. Breakfast buffet was on par with other hotels we've stayed at in Sri Lanka. Spacious room (superior deluxe) and nice bathroom. It would have been better if the room was facing pool side as there wasn't a nice view- just construction of the new rooms.

Our room was facing the new rooms that were being constructed and as a result we couldn't open the curtains for lack of privacy due to the workers on site. We were shown a few other rooms as we wanted twin beds. Some of these were damp smelling but we were told they'd freshen them up (had we wanted to stay in the room).

Definitely not a four star, room horrible and staff unhelpful. I wouldnt think twice to avoid it

The welcoming was really nice and warm, but that was it. Nice location if you want to stay out of town (you need to drive). Buffet at the restaurant was quite good, a la carte very average.

It was the worse experience we had in Sri Lanka. They gave us the rooms in a separate basement underground the car park, also with different bed option as we requested. Then we were shown a old dark room with frosted glass you could not even see outside. Obviously they didnt want us to move from where we were. Staff comleptely ignored our requests and we were left with no choise than to stay in the original room. The room was average, smelling of dump and with dirty sheets. Staff, who lives litterally next door, were very loud throughout the night. The pool if far from what the pictures look like. It’s very small. There are only six sun beds and when we asked to have one added, staff completely ignored us again...even though there were some extra aside. We were given a wet and stained towel. Only at the restaurant staff was much friendlier.

Four star view and pool, two star service from staff and cleanliness

The bed was very comfortable, though the sheets were stained. The view of the hotel from the pool is certainly four star, even if other things (such as service, size of rooms) are not.

The staff at this hotel frustrated us before we had even arrived. We called from the train station in Kandy to find out roughly how much we ought to pay for a taxi or tuk tuk to the hotel, since all the drivers were quoting huge prices. The woman who picked up the phone said she could not give us any advice as we had to barter with drivers and it was our problem - we even asked if she could give us a maximum we should pay, and if she could imagine that she was bartering with a taxi driver - she still said that she could not. I asked if I could speak to the manager and she put me on hold and then the line went dead. I called back, she said the manager was busy, and then hung up. We then turned up at the hotel and asked to speak to the manager who appeared after a little wait. We told him nicely that we were unsatisfied with the service we received from reception when we called - but instead of him understanding that our issue was with the *service* of his staff, he kept going on about how all taxi drivers are crooks etc. We tried to tell him that we know that, and it's normal but we are unsatisfied with our experience with the hotel - not the drivers, but he kept going back to taxi drivers and never apologized. He didn't seem to listen. We went straight to the pool to have lunch at the restaurant there, and staff could not communicate about the menu and didn't understand basic questions in English about what came with, or was in, certain dishes. The waiter messed up our order which was then very frustrating to change, since all staff disappeared suddenly to watch a dance performance on the lawn. Our room was a very small cave and the bedsheets had stains on them. I would not stay here again. The setting is beautiful, but the hotel is small and pokey, and the staff do not listen and appeared incompetent.

Wonderful place, wonderful memories. A big thank you to everyone at the Earls Regent

Very comfortable, relaxing and stress free. Food was very good. Beautiful pool. Enjoyed the gym facilities. Helpful and courteous staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the hotel and Kandy.

The shower needs attention, water leaked out of the cubicle. Although we didn’t raise it at the time as it wasn’t too bad and I am sure if we had it would have been attended to. Asked the hotel to arrange a taxi from Kandy to Bentota, one way, the price quoted was 8,000 skr more than the taxi co we went with.

Beautiful views.

Beautiful views. Food was delicious lots to choose from in the buffet. Staff friendly.

They first gave us a room that had just been painted/ floors stained and it smelt soooo bad the fumes made us feel sick but happily moved us to another room as we requested.

The Staff was so respectful, friendly and helpful. The food in good quality and taste. The property is great in view and it's ambience. We got two rooms and I was provided with an upgrade to Super Deluxe Room. Really appreciate everthing about it :)

Lovely hotel and staff. Breakfast was enjoyable and had a good selection with attentive staff. Received good recommendations for food. Room was clean with the essentials. Hotel central, everything we needed for a short visit and outside view room is very nice and comfortable.
